SWIM TRAINING GROUPS






















All swimmers under John and his assistants’ instruction will become strong, competent and relaxed swimmers.

Swim Groups

Objective of Group

200 Freestyle Time

(Time Trials are held once a term)

Level 12: The Shark

30-minute training session.

Improving stroke technique in all 4 strokes. Stamina and speed work.

6 minutes and over.

Level 13: The Penguin

30-minute training session.

Improving fitness, advancing stroke technique in all 4 strokes, learning race strategy. Improvement on race starts and turns.

Under 6 minutes.

Level 14: The Albatross

1-hour training session.

Working hard and enjoying doing so. Further improving fitness, swimming, and race skills including race starts and turns.

Under 5 minutes.

Level 15: The Sea Eagle

1-hour training session.

A selected group of swimmers who swim for competition. Extra training sessions are often attended.

Under 4 minutes.

Level 16: The Aquajet

1-hour training session.

Heaps of training is done to perfect efficiency and speed in specialist swimming strokes. The aim is to develop techniques to shave those seconds off swimming times.

Under 3 minutes.
